Overview

Tucked away in the vibrant Bandar Puteri area of Puchong, Toriya Yakitori Restaurant offers an authentic taste of Japanese grilling that stands out in Malaysia's diverse culinary scene. This dedicated yakitori spot specializes in skewered, charcoal-grilled chicken, delivering flavors that balance tradition with freshness.

The restaurant's signature dishes like the chicken skin and tebaski showcase masterful grilling techniques that seal in juiciness while creating a perfect char. For adventurous palates, Toriya also impresses with offerings of chicken internal organs, such as the highly recommended saezuri (chicken esophagus), famed for its freshness and pure flavor without any off-putting smell. Equally noteworthy are the grilled vegetables—the cherry tomatoes and zucchini are highlighted by patrons as standout accompaniments that bring a juicy, bright contrast to the richer meats.

The dining experience here is as refined as the menu. The space benefits from well-designed ventilation, ensuring that smoke never lingers to disrupt your clothes or hair, allowing guests to enjoy the smoky aromas without discomfort. This attention to comfort, combined with attentive service, forms a welcoming atmosphere that mirrors the owner's decades-long experience living in Japan. Such authenticity creates a cozy setting, perfect for both yakitori newcomers and seasoned fans seeking genuine flavors.

Pairing the yakitori with carefully selected beverages, like the fresh-tasting sake Kibou no Shizuku, elevates the meal to a memorable experience. For dessert, the homemade ice cream provides a delightful finish, rounding off the meal with a sweet, creamy contrast.

Located at 12A-G, Persiaran Puteri 1, Bandar Puteri, Toriya Yakitori is an ideal destination for those craving expertly grilled Japanese skewers in a smoke-free, comfortably modern setting. Whether you're looking to try classic chicken parts or venture into more unique offerings with an authentic touch, this restaurant’s commitment to freshness, flavor, and genuine hospitality makes it a must-visit in Selangor’s vibrant food map.

The food is definitely good and up to expectation. The vibes are perfect. Well designed ventilation, as no smokes which irritates your hair and clothes. The night is perfect with toriyaki and sake. Cheers!

The service is awesome! Food - grilled cherry tomatoes and zucchini are my top favourite. Pork rib and chicken rice bowl quite disappointing. Pork rib quite chewy and the rice bowl is bland.

Absolutely amazing yakitori spot! The food is fresh and delicious — even the offal has no unpleasant smell at all, just pure flavor. The owner, a Malaysian who lived in Japan for 34 years, is super friendly and makes the whole experience feel authentic and welcoming. Highly recommended!

This yakitori-ya is an absolute standout! From the moment you walk in, you notice the excellent ventilation—there's not a hint of smoke, so you leave feeling fresh. The service is also top-notch; the staff is incredibly attentive. But the real star is the food. The yakitori is masterfully grilled, locking in incredible juiciness in every single skewer. The King Oyster mushroom and okra were particularly succulent. You simply must try their signature dish, the decadent egg yolk dip. And to drink, I highly recommend the 'Kibou no Shizuku' —it was wonderfully fresh and the perfect complement to the meal. A truly fantastic experience!

I recently went to Toriya Yakitori Restaurant with my mom because she really wanted to try it—her friend had highly recommended it. And honestly, it did not disappoint at all! From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. They chatted with my mom, explained the menu and courses, and gave great recommendations. The service felt very personal and warm. One thing that really stood out was the chef’s attention to detail—he waited for us to finish each dish before serving the next one. That made the whole experience feel relaxed and thoughtful. As for the food—perfect. Every dish was seasoned just right, and the meats were super fresh and juicy. I especially loved the yuzu ice cream—it wasn’t too sweet, just refreshing and light. I loved it so much I had two! Also, everything was really clean, including the toilets, which were spotless. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a cozy, authentic yakitori experience with amazing service and delicious food.

Great food, very authentic chicken specialised yakitori, which is very rare in Malaysia. Very well seasoned, the chef is very experienced, owner handles the cooking all by himself. Staff are professional and friendly as well. Exceptional service, particularly liked the chicken skin, gizzard and heart.

The Izakaya here is genuinely delicious, with every grilled dish done to perfection. This is my second visit, and I chose to return after a disappointing Izakaya experience elsewhere on the same night. This place never fails if you’re craving good Izakaya, you definitely won’t go wrong coming here!
